Shelton Studios

Formed in 2000 by talented sculptor, Gabrielle Shelton, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Shelton Studios focuses on the tradition of craft as it applies to functional and decorative projects.  Specializing in architectural metal fabrication and the fabrication of sculptures for artists, the studio works closely with architects, designers, artists and contractors to produce and coordinate the specialized needs of each project.  Services include fabrication, machining, and finishing for a wide array of materials spanning carbon steel, brass, bronze, aluminum, zinc, copper, iron and stainless steel, all locally sourced around NYC.

Gabrielle has collaborated with us to produce some of our signature design elements like the steel wall pictured here, and she remains one of our top picks for steel work.

Nafco studio

Nestled along the Hudson river about an hour north of NYC in Newburgh, this incredible studio is the product of artisan craftsman and entrepreneur, Sean McClelland.  With a focus on building pieces that will last and have a timeless quality to them, Sean's background in woodworking with mixed media like steel, marble & glass create a "New Traditional" aesthetic that are both interesting and progressive from a material standpoint.

Sean makes a point to collaborate with other local Hudson Valley makers and sources all materials from the area, ensuring there's an authentic local touch.  His passion for the history of design & architecture coupled with his intrinsic drive for quality craftsmanship cemented his relationship with us as a go-to artisan for our clients' most special pieces like the dining table pictured here.

soil & Oak

Sporting a diverse background ranging from tomato delivery aficionado to corporate lawyer to tech entrepreneur, founder & craftsman, Jay Lee, launched Soil & Oak out of his kitchen 4 years ago and landed in artisan haven, the Hudson Valley.  His woodshop is now based in a corn crib on his 1830's farmhouse estate, and he could not be happier surrounded by nature & simplicity while working with his hands.

Specializing in the fabrication of built-in shelving and desks, Jay has become a master of integrating the industrial look of plumbing hardware with the beauty of natural woods.  He also collaborates with cabinet makers to make unique, yet functional, storage solutions.  You can find his impressive work in our own studio in addition to many of our clients' homes.  Pictured here is a beautiful built-in that we designed and Jay custom-fabricated for our client.

lv wood

Originally founded in the early 1980's as Buffalo Hardwood by the current owner's father, James Caroll, LV Wood has been maintained a family business by James Caroll II & his sister, and has expanded to operate a flagship showroom in NYC's Flatiron District.  Today, all their products are designed and manufactured in the USA, and they have some of the most beautiful woods we've come across.

Their team specializes in timeless hardwood flooring spanning a full spectrum of colors, species and finish types that are durable enough for any installation.  They offer a variety of highly custom options like handmade Bespoke Floors, which are made by hand one at a time, and Patina Wood floors that are truly timeless and offer looks spanning from modern to rustic and everything in between.  As a result, LV Wood has become our go-to for flooring, an example of which you can see pictured here in one of our Soho lofts. Our Bank Street Schoolhouse renovation will feature their American Walnut Satin 5" Plank.
