Located on a private, gated drive on iconic Great Jones Street, this award winning building by BKSK offers our clients an intimate, gracious lifestyle in the heart of Noho. Working with impeccable existing features, we renovated our client's 2k sq feet, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath (2 ensuites) apartment which enjoys soaring 10' ceilings and a 125 sq ft private balcony. The space also includes 2 large, custom walk-in closets + 4 other closets, and in-unit washer/dryer. The space features a custom Arclinea kitchen with Gaggeneu & Miele appliances, direct elevator entrance, warm, teak bath details with steam shower and marble vanities. We brought in home automation for lighting, music & motorized shades. On-site amenities include an attended lobby, private gym, yoga studio, massage room, pool, hot tub & steam room, bike storage & storage unit. Our clients challenged us to go outside of our signature BS/D organic modernist style and instead wanted to emulate the feeling of a beautiful Brazilian home reminiscent of the one the lady of the house grew up in, but with updated vibes and a focus on entertaining. We sourced primarily authentic vintage handmade Brazilian pieces and landed some really incredible finds! The one word that comes to mind to describe the design of this home is: Collected. There is history behind every element we procured. We favored spiritual values and focused on our carbon footprint and the impact it had on the home. 85% of the pieces in the space are vintage, with some elements dating back to the early 19th century and into the early 70's. The remaining 15% are pieces from local artisans and makers in the Tri-state area - keeping to our focus on environmental and economic sustainability. Focused on the spiritual aspect of design, we choose to stick with earth tones while infusing colors often seen in Brazlian cultural, think orange, burnt reds and blues. There is harmony between each room, pulling layers from color and texture, if even in a subtle way.
